About Me

Ali Brauer
Professional Triathlete

My introduction to the multisport world came at an early age. Growing up in Bend, Oregon, I participated in a wide variety of sports: swimming, track, soccer, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and basketball. The former two activities stuck, and I remained a dual-sport athlete throughout college at Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon. There, while double majoring in math and physics, I earned 11 varsity letters in track, cross-country, and swimming.

After injuries brought an end to my collegiate running career in 2015 and a coursework-intensive master's program constrained my ability to train throughout the following year, I used a move to Boulder, Colorado in the summer of 2016 as a fresh start both academically and athletically. While beginning my doctoral studies, I resumed training on my own terms and in a way that I knew would keep my body happy and injury free: the multisport way. One day, while swimming at CU Boulder's student recreation center, a multitude of national championship banners - belonging to the CU Triathlon Team - caught my eye. Then, on a whim, I decided to try an aquathlon. Shortly after that, I bought my first TT bike. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Through triathlon, I have found a new passion and a unique opportunity to compete at the highest level -- and I am absolutely determined to make the most of it.
